The main objective of this study was to develop critical thinking through project-based learning as a didactic strategy for sixth grade students in the area of Spanish language at the Buena Vista School in the municipality of Becerril, Cesar. Finally, an assessment and evaluation of the achievements and results obtained from the application of the PBL didactic strategy for the development of critical thinking in students was carried out. Methodologically, it was framed in a qualitative study under the type of participatory action research. Classes were observed, questionnaires and interviews were applied, and field diaries were analyzed to evaluate the impact of project-based learning on students' critical thinking skills, with a comparative analysis of results. It was concluded that project-based learning has shaped students as reflective and autonomous learners, capable of facing the challenges of today's world with an analytical and purposeful mindset. As a result of the application of the Cornell level X test, a second application showed a substantial improvement in all variables.
