The conditions that accompany the process of acquiring skills in students of Agro-industrial Engineering are interrelated variables that affect their learning. In this analysis, based on bibliographical research, factors such as motivation, self-concept, expectations, student-teacher relationships, prior knowledge, quality of teaching, methodologies, infrastructure, family environment, and independent work in the acquisition of competencies were identified. The analysis revealed that cognitive skills are more related to teaching quality, prior knowledge and independent work, while procedural skills depend more on methodology and infrastructure, and attitudinal skills are related to psychosocial conditions. It should be noted that the influence of conditions is multifactorial; therefore, analysis of each variable in isolation does not provide a complete picture of the academic environment. Furthermore, strengthening only one of these conditions does not guarantee the achievement of competencies in agro-industrial engineering students. This points to the need to adopt a comprehensive approach in the educational process of the Universidad de los Llanos, so that all factors interact to ensure a complete and successful education.
