Descripción
The objective of the article is to strengthen critical reading by means of the story as a didactic strategy in students of the fourth grade 2 of the Camilo Torres branch of the Francisco de Paula Santander Educational Institution of the municipality of Codazzi, Cesar. It was located in the qualitative paradigm, in the socio-critical approach, with the method of the Pedagogical Action Research which was developed in three phases: diagnosis and planning of the actions; application of the actions, and the evaluation of the achievements. The work unit consisted of 27 students. The results indicated that they reached the critical level because they established complex inferences, and contextualized the texts, adopting a critical position, involving their cultural and social background. It was concluded that the story as a didactic strategy strengthened critical reading in students.
