Description
Objective: Objective: Determine the social participation from the exploration of occupational interests and use of the living spaces of the adults over 60 years of age in the Obonuco annexed village of San Juan de Pasto. Methodology: Descriptive quantitative study, with a sample of 70 adults older than 60 years, to whom the Questionnaire of occupational interests for the older adult was applied, which determines the type of activity, level of interest, frequency, perceived self-efficacy and with whom they do it; and the evaluation of living spaces with the Life Space Assessment questionnaire (LSA). Results: The most frequent activities are attending mass, dancing, visiting family and friends, with a frequency of once a week, with high perception of self-efficacy, without any company of a family member, friend or caregiver, in addition to having interest to participate in study groups. Conclusion: The intra-family and intrapersonal relationships prevail, which have shown that reaching this stage of life is not an impediment to socialize and share with theirs and the community.Related items
