This article discloses the literature review to contribute to the research called “Women and social and political inclusion. New ways of building citizenship. Experiences of Pasto and Medellín 2015 - 2017”. In the review it was evident that the same tragic facts of violation of rights to women and the continued subjugation of this towards a male power granted for various reasons, among which are the cultural, economic and psychological, have made, despite it is a historical situation, that many women struggle for their rights and for having a role to politically restore their recognition and dignity, snatched for a long time, building other ways of seeing the world from a confrontation where presence of pain, grief and subordination constitute elements inherent to their experience.
