Descripción
Objective: To strengthen the self-esteem of primary school students of the Institución Educativa Patillal of Valledupar, Cesar, through the analysis of emotional education, as part of the research line ‘Training and Pedagogical Practice’, leading to the convergence and reflection of the educational field. Methodology: A qualitative design using the pedagogical action research method was used. This approach is framed within a descriptive type of research. Participant observation and semi-structured interviews were used to collect information. The interview was applied to eight fourth-grade students. Results: Emotional education stands out as a strategy that facilitates relational processes, both with oneself and with others and the environment. Through this education, children are able to understand their emotions, become aware of their feelings, learn to maintain a sense of tolerance, manage frustration, increase their empathy, and develop social skills that improve their communication and foster a healthy self-esteem. Conclusions: Thanks to emotional education, children develop skills, attitudes, and abilities that enable them to be effective participants in society.
