This reflection article is part of the preliminary study on the implementation of Quality Assurance Systems (SIAC) in high-quality accredited Higher Education Institutions (IES) in the Department of Nariño and their contributions in various areas, one of them being the academia-territory relationship. For this particular case, some reflections will be presented from Universidad Mariana as an accredited institution. The text addresses ontological and axiological aspects of educational quality from intercultural and territorial perspectives in the department of Nariño, specifically in the university environment. The manuscript familiarizes the reader with the institutional normative postulates in terms of quality and reflects on their relevance and significance in the academia-territory relationship. Likewise, it presents some conclusions within the framework of the implementation of internal quality assurance systems and their increasingly common practices in higher education institutions in Colombia.
