This paper presents a narrative review of the developmental dimensions present in the curricular guidelines for preschool of the Colombian Ministry of National Education and in the methodology proposed by Edgar Willems. In this way, it seeks to promote a holistic, interdisciplinary, and transversal vision of early music education, based on theoretical tools that can guide a didactic and methodological practice relevant to early childhood, incorporating an integral vision of the human being that includes the physical, emotional, and intellectual aspects present in the cognitive, socio-affective, corporal, communicative, aesthetic, ethical and spiritual dimensions, and their relationship with the constituent elements of music: rhythm, melody, and harmony.
