Conocimiento del personal asistencial de la Clínica Nuestra Señora de Fátima sobre el cuidado del paciente con cáncer gástrico, Pasto, 2024.

Abstract

RESUMEN: Estudio cuantitativo, empírico analítico de tipo descriptivo observacional en el que se determinó el conocimiento de 125 enfermeros sobre el cuidado del paciente con cáncer gástrico en el año 2024. El estudio incluyó personal auxiliar y profesional con contrato activo en la institución y fueron excluidas aquellas personas que no desearon participar del estudio, contestaron menos del 20% del cuestionario, aquellos que se encontraban cubriendo licencias de maternidad o vacaciones y personal del área administrativa en quienes se aplicó la versión traducida al español del Palliative Care Quiz for Nurses. Los resultados mostraron que si bien existe un conocimiento importante por parte del personal existen vacíos teóricos que pueden derivarse de la falta de experiencia del personal en el manejo de dichos pacientes.

ABSTRACT: Quantitative, empirical, analytical, observational, descriptive study in which the knowledge of 125 nurses about the care of patients with gastric cancer in the year 2024 was determined. The study included auxiliary and professional personnel with an active contract in the institution and excluded those people who did not wish to participate in the study, answered less than 20% of the questionnaire, those who were covering maternity or vacation leave and administrative personnel in whom the translated version of the Palliative Care Quiz for Nurses was applied. The results showed that although there is significant knowledge on the part of the staff, there are theoretical gaps that may derive from the lack of experience of the staff in the management of these patients.
