Asociación entre factores sociodemográficos y grado de adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico del paciente con hipertensión arterial de una IPS del suroccidente de Colombia, 2022-2024

Abstract

Arterial hypertension is one of the most frequent chronic non-communicable diseases that generate various complications, which over time and due to some factors generate deficits in the quality of life of people, this in turn affects the health system with the increase in costs and at the family level generating emotional instability; for which it is considered a Public Health problem. From this perspective, a quantitative, empirical-analytical, descriptive study with analytical intent was proposed which sought to determine the sociodemographic factors and the degree of adherence to the treatment of Arterial Hypertension in users attending the Hermes Andrade Mejía E.S.E Health Center of the Municipality of Tangua-Nariño. The study found that the highest proportion of users attending the Health Center are not adherent to pharmacological treatment; the highest therapeutic adherence was reported in the age range between 56 and 66 years and a lower adherence in the group of 34 to 44 years; In addition, an association was found between marital status and drug adherence, while no statistical significance was found in variables such as gender, sex, education and membership status.
