The purpose of this article is to publicize the contributions of the psychosocial team for the process of reestablishing rights in cases of negligence and domestic violence and to understand the different roles that social work and psychology professionals assume in cases of rights violations. The experience was carried out through the analysis of the professional approach of a psychosocial team (made up of a social worker and a psychologist), in a case of domestic violence treated at the Family Police Station of the municipality of Túquerres. Two face-to-face and eight virtual approaches were made with the team of professionals. The methodology was framed from a qualitative methodological paradigm, following an interpretative approach and its type was the systematization of experiences. The results guided us in understanding the work of the psychosocial teams and the performance in their different roles to understand, in turn, the family in its complexity and provide true support. The psychosocial teams worked under technical and methodological guidelines that allowed an accurate reading of the family, which led professionals in social work and psychology to develop skills and generate intervention strategies so that the processes of restoring the rights of children and adolescents in cases of domestic violence, be effective.
