The different environmental studies carried out by institutions such as the United Nations Organization have shown the importance of human control within the environment. The media, despite its importance, tend to use or hide information. In order to verify whether or not there is actually a correspondence between the importance of the treatment of information and the newscasts, we sought to recognize what space is assigned to the environment in national newscasts such as Caracol and RCN. For this, follow-up work was carried out on the news, through a classification during September 15 to 30, 2020, obtaining as a result, that environmental news has a reduced time unless it deals with government issues or catastrophes; the amount of news on the subject is minimal, taking into account the duration of the newscasts. And, although the news mostly seeks to inform, an advertising tinge is evident in some notes, specifically those related to a section in alliance with a company. The objective is to identify the intention and importance with which environmental news is transmitted. That is, to account for the absence and importance of the means to modify their agendas.
