This investigative study, of a pedagogical nature, takes the perspective of educators who work in the Criminal Responsibility System for Adolescents and demonstrates the need for strategic attention to the consumption of psychoactive substances. 47 professionals participated, men and women from different disciplines in the human sciences, who carry out their work as companions of the re-socializing processes. From the qualitative approach, seven discussion groups are carried out, to identify the strategies used to care for the consumption of psychoactive substances. The results show three transversal categories: observation, active listening, and persuasion, used as fundamental mechanisms to get in contact with users and their problems. Categories of attention to the problem, such as personal, family, social and other attention, focusing on the pedagogical task, seeking identification and intervention from the risk and protective factors. Temporary subcategories such as: at all times, initial, intermediate, and final, seek to accompany the process of change in the face of the consumption of these substances. The pedagogical processes within the System are strengthened, responsibly assuming the problem of consumption and its possible change through some techniques.
