Higher education institutions are entities that are responsible for providing comprehensive knowledge and participation in research processes that have as their main goal, generate social transformations and contribute to diff erent cultural, social and economic sectors, among others. For this reason, they serve as support to organizations to make improvements in their guidelines, mainly in the structuring processes of organizational protocols and policies, due to the failure to carry out an adequate process and update of the two elements mentioned. As a result, these institutions provide signifi cant support through the development of research.The main purpose of this paper was to solve the following question: what is the role of higher education institutions in the restructuring of protocols and policies of organizations?, highlighting the need for organizations to work on protocols based on improving the well-being and quality of life of subjects, rather than on production.
