This article presents the most important results of the analysis of socioeconomic conditions and competition faced by the associated producers at Alsur S.A.S. Company in the municipality of Gualmatán, Nariño, Colom-bia. The research was descriptive, quantitative paradigm, under an analytical empirical approach. Primary information (surveys) and review of various documents were used. The results showed the existence of an aversion to change by the producers, who have an upper stay of 31 years on their farms, which avoids incorpo-rating new technologies into the production process. Furthermore, the presence of a high number of them with low educational level, that prevents the paradigm shift from traditional production, and reduces the chances of reaching a higher level in the production of fruits and vegetables.
