This work was created in 2011, with the accompaniment of Computers for Schools program, an organization that donates computers to public educational institutions. Some classroom projects were created to facilitate the development of skills in technology, highlighting among them, ‘JovenTIC’, implemented in the Educational Institutions: Technical San Juan Bautista, Technical and Commercial Pangús and Mallama Municipality. The diagnosis revealed the initial skills of sixth graders of the three institutions, also proven in a meeting with focus groups. These data led the construction of a JovenTIC workshop in three stages: personal use, academic use and ownership. The workshop was applied in four months, was evaluated and a strategy was proposed for strengthening the competencies of higher difficulty. The process was focused on “use and appropriation” based on the guide 30 of the Ministry of National Education of Colombia.
