The present essay is the result of the first stage of the research called “Basic thinking skills in learning processes of the reading and writing in high education” that accomplishes in the Pontifical Catholic University from Ecuador (Branch Ibarra) and Mariana University of Pasto, Colombia. The reflection turns on the most common and frequent mistakes of the college teachers who, in the practice, hold up the strengthening of the linguistic skills of reading and writing in students.
