Description
Talking about the Pacific coast of Nariño entails to exploring a broad context of traditions, customs and practices that define the culture and idiosyncrasy of being Afro, for this reason, this article presents the research findings, through which the importance of strengthening, preserving, and respecting the culture and ancestral knowledge of the Afro community in the school environment is highlighted. The study was developed with Afro-Colombian teachers from the municipalities of Tumaco and La Tola Nariño. Within the methodology, a qualitative paradigm with an ethnographic approach was used, supported by documentary analysis, thus fulfilling the purpose of exploring the learning scenarios and the methodological strategies used by the teachers. In the same way, it was possible to analyze the relevance of the pedagogical practice with respect to the true training needs that arise in the Afro-Nariñense educational community.
