The purpose of this article is to present the development of learning strategies for the strengthening of the communicative competence of the English language in the training of the Saber Pro test in the students of the Universidad Popular del Cesar. Methodologically, it was located in action research, with a work unit of 17 learners. A structured survey was applied; it revealed the problems in verbal communication; and an exit test was done to verify the achievements. Likewise, planning that contained various learning strategies that allowed them to consolidate their communicative competencies in English was carried out. It was concluded that the educational action implemented made the training for the Saber Pro Test a success, since the communicative competence in English as a foreign language was strengthened in students.
