Social skills are interpersonal competences that allow to adequately face the different challenges that arise in the social dimension, so that the individual achieves a successful social adaptation and enjoy mental health. The objective of this research is to determine the level of social skills for life in students from 16 to 19 years old in three academic programs of a private university, through the application of the Inventory of Empathy, Interpersonal Relations and Assertive Communication. The present study is quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental, the sampling is non-probabilistic and intentional and was made up of a total of 108 people, from three academic programs in the field of humanities and social sciences. The results show that the students are at the high and moderate levels of these skills.
