Problematic teaching in the Bachelor of Basic Education with an emphasis on Social Sciences at the University of Nariño

The Bachelor in Basic Education with emphasis on Social Sciences of the University of Nariño is methodologically based on problem teaching, with a curriculum configured in problem nuclei, problem sub-nuclei, and general training nuclei (Social Sciences, Pedagogical knowledge and educational, Research), organized by basic, disciplinary, pedagogical and investigative competences. These characteristics and others, aroused interest in investigating pedagogical strategies by competencies and their contribution to problem teaching methods, resulting in this article, which is supported by qualitative research, the multimethod, and the critical social approach. The information obtained through interview formats, semi-structured survey, and content analysis, allowed us to infer that: a) the program works by competencies, approached from 1-10 semester, highlighting the investigative, cognitive, and teaching practice; b) there is an articulation between the didactic and pedagogical strategies with the four methods of problem teaching; c) the teachers of the program use authors and schools of thought for the development of the formative and evaluative process, standing out referents of the Critical School, and social, popular, and decolonial pedagogies. These findings make it possible to sustain that the Bachelor in Basic Education with emphasis on Social Sciences of the University of Nariño is at the forefront of the latest trends and demands for teaching, learning, and evaluation from the framework of problem teaching, making it possible to have a general reading of the pedagogical components that, coupled in a coherent way, show a planned scope for a training intention by competencies.
