Using the story as a pedagogical and didactic strategy, the research aimed to favor the teaching and learning processes in the subject of Chemistry to students from Escuela Nueva who enter sixth grade. Thus, the first objective sought to characterize the didactic strategies and the student’s expectations about the learning processes; in the second objective, the story was implemented as a teaching strategy; in the third objective, contributions of the story and its limitations were evaluated. The research was developed at the Simón Álvarez Educational Institution, under the qualitative methodology, the social critical approach and the action research method. With its guidelines, the diagnostic, application, evaluation and reflection stage was carried out. In sum, the achievements made establish that the story is an innovative, dynamic and flexible strategy, possible to apply in Chemistry and favor the integration of the student to the new school environment.Ítems relacionados
