This document was intended to support the welfare plan of the Hospital San Rafael de Pasto, addressing two important issues such as leadership and assertive communication in managers and head nurses. Regarding the methodology, a detailed description of the workshops that took place in the intervened areas was made.Data collection was carried out through the application of two instruments: the first Test Disc and the second, the questionnaire organizational communication. The results show a marked profile of the determining managers, unlike in head nurses who presented a marked use in all profiles (decisive, influential, serene, conscientious). Furthermore, communication results, both managers and head nurses showed a high score in communication up and down and a medium level in the horizontal communication.
