It was at La Central del Raval bookstore (C. Elisabets, 6, Barcelona), where between a rush of orderly books the name of one of the greatest American storytellers of recent years appeared in white letters : Evelio Rosero (Bogotá, 1958). The novel was en litted The Armies (ll Prize Tusquets novel editors), one among a variety of texts of poetry, short stories, children’s books and drama, which Evelio leads us through in his continued and growing experience as a writer. He comes from a Pastusa lineage, this author with his profession and conviction in literature as a way of expression and which he betrays through seeing his country and continent, which begins with: “The eternal monologue Llo” (fictionalized poem, 1981) to his latest, “The Float of Bolivar” (Barcelona, 2012). Since its inception, it has won countless awards and translations. The confidence in his talent and profession cannot be a coincidence , but the certainty of finding among such weeds a brilliant writer’s name in any bookstore in the world.
