Descripción

This article addresses the game as the central axis to explain its relevance as a learning trigger, being a fundamental and meaningful pedagogical strategy within the knowledge building for children in Colombian pre-schools. Inside the article there are some conceptions about game, its relevance and its main features bearing in mind theoretical constructs from Piaget, Vygotsky, Bruner, Ferreiro, Teberosky, Tolchinsky, among others, as well as its contribution to the oral and written language. The article also covers the following statements: -As a pedagogical strategy, game allows the enjoyment of the teaching and learning process in children. -Through game it is possible to recognize children’s skills, abilities and strengths, as well as their limitations, their previous knowledge, their need for knowledge and learning something new every day. -Game is a pedagogical strategy that meets children’s interests and needs in their developmental process, and although many people have reasons to doubt, it is possible to state that game, when successfully performed and implemented, is a whole knowledge experience.
