Description
The objective of the research was to contribute to the development of critical thinking skills. It was qualitative with a socio-critical approach and from the action research method. The population consisted of 30 8th grade students. Brainstorming, surveys and class diaries were used to collect information. The implementation had as a scenario the modality of academic work at home, which raised the need to use social networks such as WhatsApp and Facebook. In the results it was found that critical thinking skills such as analysis, interpretation, explanation, self-regulation were developed through asynchronous discussion forums. It concluded that the strategy used was an effective means for the transformation of school realities, promoting reflection, building knowledge, and attending to situations that could arise.
