Descripción
Objective: to know about the quality of life in a group of indigenous elders belonging to the communityof Yaramal, Ipiales, Colombia. Study: Cross-sectional study in a sample of 120 adults over 60 years old ormore. Materials: questionnaire of demographic aspects and the quality of life scale -SF-36-. Results: femalegender predominated in 62.50%; 78.33% were married; 45.83% are illiterate; 68.33% reported not receivinga subsidy from the mayor’s office; about 75% are engaged in housework and therefore 50% of them donot receive a monthly income; likewise, 35% depend economically on their family; almost 60% expressedlimitations to carry out intense activities, where 43.33% considered that their health will be worsen in thenext years. In conclusion, quality of life is a multidimensional concept in which the combination of factorsimpacts on well-being and in the context of interaction.
