This article is the result of a critical review of the literature on the Colombian labor market and its impact on the new legislation, favorable to workers, where despite extensive national and international regulations that seek to suppress the adverse effects of free-market relations change in the Colombian market, there are still disparities in gender issues. Through the use of the descriptive research type, the economic factors that explain the demand for work were studied, obtaining that, on their own, they do not show the wage inequality and labor remuneration between men and women, reason why it is concluded that the new legislation is postulated as a variable that directly impacts on the labor market, requiring, in addition, the normative and jurisprudential analysis to understand the origin of these distortions in the Colombian labor market.
