Description
Within the Santos Government’s National Development Plan (2014-2018), one of the flags to ensure develop-ment is housing, a policy that has generated the impulse of infrastructure to serve the vulnerable population through Housing Program of Priority Interest (VIP, as it is known in Spanish). However, the solution of pov-erty does not end with the delivery of housing; the next step is to involve the receiving families in socioeco-nomic inclusion mechanisms that allow the development of productive activities that generate income and enliven the economy of society, for which it is necessary to identify their occupational profiles. The current investigation was carried out in the municipality of Florencia (Caquetá), in the urbanizations Villa Gloria and La Bocana. Data collection was based on a methodology with a mixed approach, where qualitative variables were handled through workshops, and quantitative through surveys. The results showed an illiteracy rate above the national average, notably low levels of education, informal employability, and a high rate of economically active population, unoccupied. Within the guidelines for es-tablishing a socioeconomic inclusion mechanism, the need for training and qualification of human talent was determined. In conclusion, education is more than the learning of an art or discipline, given its relation to know-being and know-how; therefore, any mechanism of income generation to be functional in these cases, must start by getting the population internalize the importance of entering a fair and legal work world.
