Description

Lactate values and normal arterial blood gas in the adult in San Juan de Pasto, Colombia, are not established; at the time of the analysis they are assumed and taken close values referenced to the sea level; there are not benchmarks regarding the issue; therefore it was decided to conduct this research to determine those values in healthy subjects of San Juan de Pasto.It was a descriptive research, carried out with 139 people between 19 and 50 years, considered healthy by their occupational medical history, through arterial blood gas (ABG) processed by Rochem Biocare team. The following values averages were obtained: PH 7.44 BE: -2.5, PaCO2: 32 mmHg, PaO2: 78 mmHg, SO2: 96%, HCO3: 21.7 mmol / l and Lactate 1.0 mmol / lt. The above aspects showed that the values of pO2, pCO2 and HCO3 in healthy subjects from Pasto are lower relative to sea level.
