Description
All productive activities generate direct and indirect negative impacts on the environment. Aquacultu-re is not immune to this reality. Therefore, to reduce these impacts, a recirculation aquaculture system (RAS-Trout) was proposed which featured two physical filtration units, two biological units and a di-sinfection unit that allowed the optimum development of Rainbow Trout. This article focuses on the evaluation of the removal of solids, in terms of total solids (TS), suspended solids (SS), dissolved solids (DS), volatile solids (VS) and fixed solids (FS).General removal of RAS-Trout 40.2 % for ST, SS 49.94 %, SD 33.67 %, 16.83 % VS 42.64 % and SF were obtained, leading to the conclusion that assures the allowable values of solids in the culture of Rainbow trout being post filtration unit which has higher removals in all solid, posing as a good alternative for biological effluent post treatment.
