Resumen
Reading comprehension is one of the most important elements of the teaching process because in addition to transversalizing all areas of knowledge, it influences the performance that the student can achieve in the family, school, and social context. In this way, teaching strategies are required that awaken interest and pleasure in reading with the purpose of strengthening reading competence. This fact has been the guiding thread of this research, which is developed with second grade students. Reading is the skill that will help them communicate and gives them the opportunity to perform socially and culturally individually and collectively, allowing them to carry out spontaneous and effective actions that enrich their written production, vocabulary, and analytical and critical thinking.
