Esta investigación busca analizar cómo se construyen y perpetúan los estereotipos de la población afrodescendiente en la telenovela Chepe Fortuna a través del enfoque comunicación/cultura, el cual examina la creación de sentidos y significados en la narrativa audiovisual. La importancia de esta investigación radica en la necesidad de comprender cómo los medios de comunicación influyen en la percepción pública y en la formación de prejuicios, especialmente en contextos donde las representaciones culturales tienen un impacto significativo en la construcción de identidades y relaciones sociales.
A través de un análisis detallado de los personajes y sus interacciones, el estudio pretende evidenciar si existe un prejuicio predominante hacia la población afrodescendiente y de qué manera se representa a esta comunidad en la telenovela. El enfoque cualitativo permitirá explorar en profundidad cómo la narrativa audiovisual de la telenovela construye y refuerza estereotipos, prestando especial atención a cómo estos afectan la percepción pública de la comunidad afrodescendiente.
El propósito de este análisis es exponer cómo Chepe Fortuna contribuye a la creación de significados que refuerzan o desafían los prejuicios culturales y raciales, examinando de qué manera se muestran las dinámicas de poder y las relaciones interculturales en la serie. Al enfocarse en la dimensión comunicativa y cultural, se busca revelar las implicaciones culturales y sociales de estas representaciones y su impacto en la percepción pública de la población afrodescendiente, subrayando la importancia de este estudio en la lucha contra la discriminación y en la promoción de una representación más justa y equitativa en los medios.
This research seeks to analyze how stereotypes of the afrodescendant population are constructed and perpetuated in the telenovela Chepe Fortuna through the communication/culture approach, which examines the creation of senses and meanings in the audiovisual narrative. The importance of this research lies in the need to understand how the media influence public perception and the formation of prejudices, especially in contexts where cultural representations have a significant impact on the construction of identities and social relations. Through a detailed analysis of the characters and their interactions, the study aims to show whether there is a predominant prejudice towards the Afro-descendant population and how this community is represented in the soap opera. The qualitative approach will allow us to explore in depth how the audiovisual narrative of the telenovela constructs and reinforces stereotypes, paying special attention to how these affect the public perception of the Afro-descendant community. The purpose of this analysis is to expose how Chepe Fortuna contributes to the creation of meanings that reinforce or challenge cultural and racial prejudices, examining how power dynamics and intercultural relations are shown in the series.
