The objective of the article was to reflect on health promotion, how graduate programs in health influence this topic and the importance of education in this sector. Among the results, it is found that health promotion should be included and assumed with social responsibility by the programs, especially those related to this topic, since they design actions aimed at the community, using education and research, contributing, supporting, and guiding towards the improvement of the lifestyle of the person, the family, and the community, avoiding in a certain way that the population gets sick or worsens its disease if it already has it. Finally, it is concluded that universities, by participating in health promotion strategies, have a positive impact on the health and well-being of their members and the community.
