Objective: Provide a sensory stimulus through the simulation of an object characterized by a color, smell, and texture, to promote emotional, sensory, and perceptual regulation skills in hospitalized patients. Materials and methods: party bombs, grains of corn and peas, flour, plush, silicone gel, essences of pine, gum, jasmine, orange, apple, and strawberry. For the collection of information, a checklist and a satisfaction survey were implemented. Results: the motivation and interest of the users when receiving the stimulus that favors the affective and emotional sphere is evident, generating positive changes in daily life, taking into account that the intervention starts from basic sensory needs such as providing rest, comfort, physical well-being, driving and stimulating positive emotions, emphasizing those emotional processes that generate a pleasant emotional experience such as joy, happiness, and love, to counteract the negative ones by relieving tension, stress, anxiety, and depression that are common in hospitals, since the patients are unaccompanied due to the contingency of COVID-19. Conclusions: color is a visual stimulus that represents a means of expression of emotions, feelings, and desires; aromas activate the limbic system, responsible for regulating emotions and behavior; can transmit various sensations that influence mood; the texture influences the senses and creates a personal reaction, be it attraction or rejection, feelings, memories and/or experience.
