dc.description.abstractThis article details the opportunities for training of the system engineer, according to Colombian requirements demands. This work was done through the characterization of employment [1] and professional profiles [2], this was a comparative study between these profiles and ACM international standards [3]. The work highlighted both the skill of professional given their training and employment opportunities. Furthermore, this research makes a reflection and analysis on the gap between academia and the Colombian workplace context. The research was conducted with the quantitative paradigm, empirical-analytical approach and correlational descriptive, the sampling: Not probabilistic for convenience. This work confirm that in the disciplines of computer science and Information System, the job profile required by companies have more demands in relation to the profiles training of the graduating students of this profession. © 2016 IEEE.
