This article is the result of the investigation “Final Report on the Implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in the construction company Davinci S.A.S. of Pasto city, Colombia, January 2015”, of the University Graduate School and International Relations of the Mariana University. The construction sector has had an important boom in recent years, which is why it is necessary for companies linked to this sector to implement the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). To contribute to this process, this article proposes the implementation of IFRS in a construction company in the city of Pasto. For this, a qualitative methodology was used through a semi-structured interview and a quantitative analysis of the company’s financial statements through accounting methods. Among the main results, it was found that the accounting management of the company conforms to the PCGA method. In addition, it was possible to establish measurement, recognition and disclosure policies for debtors, property, plant and equipment, investments, accounts payable and financial obligations, income and expenses. Finally, the strategies for the fulfillment of the activities for the implementation of the IFRS for SMEs are presented
