The research aimed to recognize the therapeutic variables that made it possible to significantly improve the relational dynamics of a couple going through a marital crisis characterized by inadequate communication, permeated by the inability to listen and few spaces for dialogue, deterioration in the quality of sex life, difficulties to resolve conflicts effectively, associated with an aggressive pattern and psychological violence. Once these communicational and relational patterns were recognized and understood, it was possible to modify them through the intervention performed by the psychologist. The experience was carried out through four therapeutic sessions conducted by the psychologist of the I.P.S. Femsalud with the consultant couple. The present systematization of the experience was framed within the qualitative paradigm, following an interpretative approach and its type is systematization of experiences. The results allow realizing, in the first instance, that the methodological tools used made it possible to overcome the marital crisis, facilitating understanding and therefore improving the communication process; in the same way they gave way to training in impulse self-control as well as the management of emotions, decision-making and conflict resolution which allowed the restoration of trust, strengthening affective bonds and improving the sex life, transforming in turn the relational dynamics within the conjugal subsystem.
