A prospective and cross-sectional quantitative study was conducted, with a sample of 250 students from the BET-EL Institute of Pasto, from which a population of 50 students was taken, to which the IPAQ questionnaire, composition measurement body was applied through anthropometry and sociodemographic characterization. The results regarding the level of physical activity of the adolescents determined that the most representative level was: 78% with high physical activity levels, followed by 14% with low physical activity and 8% with moderate physical activity levels. For the association between the level of physical activity and the body mass index in the population, the statistical test of Chi square was used, obtaining a linear association value of 0.011, indicating that there is dependence between these two variables and a direct association between them.
