The main objective of this research was to examine the attributes of biomass and density from the spatial distribution of macroinvertebrates in different land uses, as an indicator of quality in Paja Blanca Wasteland, high mountain ecosystem located in the southeastern part of Nariño department, Colombia. To this end, the diversity of edaphic macro-fauna was characterized in five land uses: Forest, Planted Fence, Natural Fence, Improved Pasture and Natural Pasture. The results allowed identifying a total of 65 families with 3,022 individuals, 27 orders, 9 classes and 5 functional groups. Of the total of families found, 28% corresponded to Forest, being its land use, the most distinctive; 26% to Natural Fence, 16% to Planted Fence, 15% to Natural Pasture and 15% to Improved Pasture. These values indicate the different states of disturbance in the wasteland; Glososscolecidae pos family was the most representative.
