The research makes a revision to the academic projection of the humanities in the places where the students of the Mariana University perform the formative practice; it is centered in analyzing the incidence of the humanities from the characterization and identification of the tendencies and needs of the students in the formative practice. In this way, this article presents findings found in the first objective that deals with the characterization of training trends in humanities as a first response to the problem: How do Humanities affect the students who do the formative practice? And the general objective that corresponds to analyze the incidence of the humanities by reviewing the trends and training needs of students who perform the training practice to propose training guidelines in humanities.Therefore, its paradigm is qualitative with a hermeneutical approach, a critical reflexive method, taking advantage of the review of documentary analysis, the open and semi-structured interview with a focus group, from the comparison and population analysis generated by the proposal. The sample chosen was made intentionally, in accordance with the strategy, availability and access to information, determined by the conditions of the students who carry out their training practice. As for the techniques of data collection, the interview, observation and review of documents are used, which make it easier to approach the problem effectively, compare it and generate an appropriate treatment to the demands of higher education in relation to the Humanities, and then originate new research that allows comparisons with other programs and universities.
