Villavicencio has shown pressure for suburban lands and country houses on agricultural land, fragmenting the territory. We made a study based on the current changes and trends in relation to land tenure and use, found on the characteristics present in rural activities and the environment, because of the changes in tenure and use of the land in Suría (Villavicencio). The research was qualitative empirical in order to define the motivations, attitudes, and behaviors of the actors, immersed in the problem, determining precisely the tenure and use of the land. It was detected an unusual urban transformation due to the increase in population, private and public investment, expectations of real estate and productive profitability, and foreign investments in oil and biofuel activity.
