Descripción
Among the most relevant changes associated with material transformation and its impact on the territory is the relationship between urbanism and environmental deterioration, especially in large cities, where the well-being of the population rests, for whose inhabitants, the city as a scenario of opportunities, has ended up generating countless contradictions between well-being and sustainability. This situation groups a large part of the large Latin American cities, who share a series of common environmental problems that follow a trend and become a patt ern. What is complex is the lack of individualization of some elements that can diff erentiate the indicators of sustainability between cities, and the impact of public policies aimed at ensuring the sustainability of cities, which indicates the imperative need to adopt models of individualization that allow a greater eff ectiveness.
