This article refers to the results obtained in cognitive performance of a group of older adults, in a quantita-tive research with descriptive level held in the town of Pasto; the population consisted of 426 older adults for the twelve districts of the city, who were selected for convenience; a higher percentage are women, represented by 61 %; the predominant ages are in the range of 65 to 69 years and 70-74 years. Depending on cognitive performance there is an improved performance in subtests related to memory recall, attention and calculation; lower average determined in alluding to memory components mounting and orien-tation. Total score displays that 40.3 % corresponds to a normal level; however it is significant to show how 59.7 % related to the category of cognitive involvement, discriminated as follows: a total of 36.3 % is located in mild cognitive impairment; 20.7 % in moderate cognitive impairment and 2.7% in the category of severe cognitive involvement, leaving as conclusion that most of the population evaluated was placed in the category of cognitive impairment.
