Nursing students and Nursing Auxiliaries students are often exposed to the biological risk because of the direct attention in patients, the contact with the corporal fluids (blood, secretions), sharp materials manipulation (needles, scalpel), as well as the contact with waste materials generated in the daily activities (gauze, dressings, bandages). Though students are prepared theoretically to their self-care, they are assured by a student insurance policy that covers, among others, these contingencies.
